Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you are considering joining our community or are preparing for another great year with us, these FAQs will guide you through our most common questions, policies, and preschool routines.
What age does my child need to be to enroll in a program?
Our programs start at age 2.5 through 5 years of age. Specific class requirements are as follows:
- 2.5 Year Old Class: Must be 2.5 by the time school starts.
- 3 Year Old Class: Must be three by August 1st.
- 4 Year Old Class: Must be four by August 1st.
- Pre-K Class: Must be entering kindergarten the following year.
How is LOLCP affiliated with Lord of Life Lutheran Church?
Lord of Life Christian Preschool (LOLCP) maintains a strong and positive a partnership with Lord of Life Lutheran Church, but we are separate entities– both financially and in governance.
Our preschool is located within the church building, with two classrooms dedicated exclusively to preschool use and one classroom that is shared with the church for weekend ministry activities.
As part of our ongoing partnership, preschool classes participate in a monthly Chapel lesson led by church leadership. These short, age-appropriate lessons focus on the Fruit of the Spirit- qualities that are widely embraced across the broader Christian community: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.
While faith and kindness are woven into our daily environment, our mission is to love all children as Jesus does– creating a nurturing, inclusive space that celebrates each child and family. We do not teach specific denominational beliefs or seek to influence children into a particular religious practice.

What is LOLCP's vaccination policy?
LOLCP requires that all children be fully vaccinated. The Ohio Department of Children and Youth requires a signed “Child Medical Statement” which indicates vaccinations and a physical exam every 13 months. LOLCP firmly believes that all children and young adults should receive all the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics. LOLCP requires that all children enrolled in our program have received their full recommended vaccines in correlation to age to attend our program. No religious exemptions are accepted, medical exemptions will be determined on a case by case basis.
How is tuition structured and paid?
Tuition is divided into nine payments. One payment—covering May—is included with your confirmation fees. For your convenience, the remaining annual tuition is split into eight equal monthly payments, due from September through April. The monthly fee remains the same regardless of the number of school days attended, and no refunds are issued for missed days.
We offer two payment options:
- Annual Pay-in-Full: A 5% discount is available if payment is received by August 1.
- Monthly Payments: Accepted via check, ACH, or credit card. Please note that processing fees apply for ACH and credit card transactions.
Invoices are emailed monthly and include a link for online payment. Payments are due on the first day of each month. A $35 fee will be charged for failed payments, and a $20 late fee will apply to overdue payments.

What is the student to teacher ratio for each class?
Student to teacher ratios for each class can be found on the individual class pages linked at the top of our website.
Each class will consist of two staff members and no more than 16 children. Our staff-student ratio is at least
one staff member for every eight students during all class time and field trips.
Does my child need to be potty trained to attend preschool?
Potty training policies are as follows:
- 2.5 Year Old Class: Children do not need to have independent bathroom skills.
- 3 Year Old Class: Children do need to use the bathroom independently. We do have a pull-up policy available for this age group as needed.
- 4 Year Old Class & Pre-K Class: Children do need to use the bathroom independently.
Is LOLCP licensed?
Lord of Life Christian Preschool is licensed by the State of Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. (ODJFS)
