Preschool Director
Currently Hiring for the 2025-2026 School Year
Lord of Life Christian Preschool (LOLCP) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Preschool Director to lead the daily operations of our preschool. The Director will be responsible for the children enrolled, the supervision of staff and parent volunteers, and will act as a key partner with the Lord of Life Lutheran Church. The Director reports to the Preschool Board.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Administrative Leadership: Serve as the Chief Administrative Officer, handling the day-to-day activities of the Preschool.
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure adherence to Preschool policies.
- Staff Management: Oversee staff training, supervision, and annual evaluations; address staff issues, and prepare and review performance goals for each employee.
- Board Communication: Report regularly to the Preschool Board by attending meetings and providing monthly Director reports; develop and implement personnel policies, procedures, and program growth strategies in collaboration with the Board.
- Church Coordination: Communicate regularly with Lord of Life Lutheran Church staff, attending weekly staff meetings.
- Parent Communication: Prepare monthly newsletters and weekly emails to parents; contribute to the Lord of Life Lutheran Church monthly newsletter.
- School Calendar: Set the school calendar and notify the church administrative assistant of important dates for inclusion in the church calendar.
- Event Planning: Schedule and set up special events, including field trips, holiday parties, family events, and summer camp options.
- Resource Management: Purchase equipment, materials, and supplies; make recommendations for equipment upkeep and repairs; coordinate with the church on necessary facility repairs.
- Representation: Act as the official spokesperson for LOLCP with parents, the community, the church, and other groups.
- Documentation: Maintain the Teacher and Parent Handbooks; preserve enrollment records and meet state legal requirements.
- Curriculum Oversight: Collaborate with the pastor and staff to select and oversee a developmentally appropriate religious curriculum and regular chapel visits.
- Parent Meetings: Oversee information meetings with parents before the school year starts and mid-year open house registration.
- Organization: Assist staff with organizing storage spaces annually.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an administration seminar/rules review training course with documentation (JFS 01241 “Administration Rules Review Course Certificate)” within six months of hire.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Two years of classroom experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Active Christian commitment, regular worship, and spiritual growth with a church congregation of their choice.
- Supportive of the missions of both Lord of Life Lutheran Church and LOLCP, working with staff from both organizations to further joint ministries within the community.
- Annual performance review with the Board based on mutually agreed-upon goals and objectives.
- Act as a goodwill representative of the school whenever possible.

Assistant Teacher
Currently Hiring for the 2025-2026 School Year
The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching learning environment for preschool children. This includes assisting with classroom activities, interacting with children, maintaining classroom organization, and ensuring the well-being of all students.

Qualifications:
- Ohio State Requirements:
- Fingerprint background check
- Three written references (5101:12-08)
- Record of high school graduation or college degree/coursework (5101:12-27)
- Physical exam within the past 12 months (5101:12-29)
- 15-45 hours of annual in-service training, including:
- Child Abuse Recognition and Prevention
- First Aid and CPR
- Management of Communicable Diseases
- Early Childhood Education (5101:12-30)
- Lord of Life Christian Preschool Requirements:
- Completion of Step Up to Quality training (10 hours prerequisite, 10 hours every two years)

Hours:
- Morning: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
- Afternoon: 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Responsibilities:
Daily:
- Prepare the classroom environment before and after activities.
- Follow the Lead Teacher’s daily schedule and plans, assisting with assigned tasks.
- Arrive on time for class. If unable to attend due to illness, notify a fellow staff member to substitute and contact the Director as soon as possible.
- Interact with children as a facilitator, asking open-ended questions and guiding problem-solving.
- Observe and record children’s behavior and progress for discussion with the Lead Teacher.
- Restore the classroom after activities, maintaining a clean and organized space.
- Focus on children’s needs during class time. Schedule longer discussions with staff and parents outside of class time.
- Fill and empty the sand/water table (primarily during water use).
- Set out easel, paint, and paper before class.
- Take children to the restroom before snack.
- Prepare and serve snack, and sit with children during snack time.
- Check restrooms for cleanliness, wipe surfaces, and replenish supplies.
- Lead small group activities as assigned.
- Observe and interact with children during recess and gross motor activity time.
- Help children prepare to leave, encouraging self-help skills.
- Refill supplies for centers as needed.
- Ensure each child’s backpack contains necessary notes, etc.
- Empty trash.
- Put away paints and glue, refill/prepare cups, and cover for storage.
- Wash paintbrushes and lids.
- Wipe down smocks, easel, tabletops, and other surfaces.
- Leave the easel empty.
- Check and refill hand-washing water.
- Check and replenish art supplies.
- Replenish easel paper, paper towels, napkins, and cups.
- Check the room for general order and cleanliness.
- Other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or Director.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Classroom set-up before the fall start (minimum two half-days or one full day).
- Organize and equip the classroom before the fall start.
- Attend the parent information meeting in August.
- Attend all field trips.
- Assist in preparing for parent-teacher conferences (twice a year).
- Assist with special events (Fathers’ Nights, Christmas Program, etc.).
- Rotating Sunday set-up (approximately once per month) and Friday breakdown.
- Assist with Open House (approximately 2 hours).
- Assist with year-end breakdown and storage (minimum two half-days or one full day).
- Assist in cleaning/organizing designated areas twice a year.
- Complete self-evaluation and participate in problem-solving meetings.
- Utilize available curriculum materials.
- Complete work in class or take home assignments as needed.
- Assist children with toileting accidents.
- Attend staff meetings.
- End-of-week breakdown (staff working the last session of the week).
- Light cleaning before 3:15 pm (afternoon assistant only). Heavier cleaning after the last child leaves.
- Disinfection of manipulatives (rotating schedule).
